THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION

The Bush Accomplishments  Last night in his, thankfully last State of the Union Address, President Bush tried to list all of his accomplishments.  Of course, he painted the best picture he could of a very dismal record to say the least.  But, his speechmakers are very good at using all kinds of tricks, quoting scripture, the founding fathers, etc., everything in the book to make their leader look good.  Of course, the reality of these very desperate years is very different from the way this President wants to paint them.  So, I thought it important for history, if nothing else, to list the Bush accomplishments more realistically, from the point of view of someone who had to live through them.  1.  The Bush Administration in their first month in office took the Clinton Surplus of 5 billion dollars and turned it into a deficit of 5 Billion dollars.  And, they were just getting warmed up.  Now, after 7 years of these monthly deficits, we’re a BANKRUPT NATION.  2. Bush along with his cronies destroyed a booming economy and turned it into one of almost total ruin.  They like to quote that they created 5 million jobs, but what they fail to tell you is they also destroyed 10 million jobs and the jobs they created are mostly government jobs, jobs that accomplish nothing, but make life more difficult as we all have to deal with the unrestrained bureaucracy.    3.  He failed to use his Central Intelligence to see that 19 foreign attackers invaded this country and took out the World Trade Center.  4.  He stopped all government funding for research into cures that could save millions of lives of people afflicted with Cancer, Diabetes, Lung diseases etc.  All because a religious fanatic told him that life begins at the stem cell level of only four cells.  Having never taken a biology class in college, George Bush is not able to discern fact from religious lunacy.  5.  He allowed the torture and spying of American citizens, in complete defiance of the United State Constitution.  6.  He raised energy prices to THREE TIMES the level they were at when he took office.  7.  Going after Osama Bin Laden, the perpetrator of the attack on the World Trade Center, he missed the target by some 1500 miles and landed in Iraq instead, thus forcing the deaths of thousands of our troops senselessly and needlessly while the most successful terrorist in a thousand years roams free and is now plotting his next attack.  8.  He failed to enact any Health Care plans and millions of Americans go bankrupt each year trying to pay their medical bills.  9.  He tried very hard but, thankfully, failed to dismantle the Social Security System, the only government system that actually works successfully and is in the black each year, but making claims that it will not be in the black in the year 2012, well after this administration would have gone and another administration would have been able to solve his future problem.  10.  He lowered the Federal income tax by a few hundred dollars, but forced the state governments to raise taxes by several thousand dollars to compensate for the funding to the states that he was forced to cut by his own tax cuts.  11.  He managed to destroy the dollar, now almost worthless in world markets.  12.  He has bankrupted this nation, once the proudest and strongest nation on the Earth due to all the spending on foreign wars that miss their target and the corrupt practices of the Congress which he allows to continue.    13. He failed to rebuild any cities that have been hit by the weather disasters caused by Global Warming.  The President has said that he doesn’t believe in Global Warming and even censored government scientists who disagreed with him and tried to publish the truth about it.  14.  He allowed illegal immigration into this country to reach epidemic proportions, taking over millions of jobs, while exporting more good jobs overseas than any other President.    15.  He presided over the worst housing crisis and stock market decline since the Great Depression.  He has almost completely ruined the country’s financial system.  BUT, his cronies, the CEO’s who aided and abetted him were rewarded with record bonuses for helping to dismantle this country’s industries.  IN summary, this man has done more harm to this nation than any terrorist could ever have accomplished.  He did it with an impish smile so that few of us would recognize him for what he truly is, America’s greatest enemy since Adolph Hitler.  It will take several generations to pay back the national debt created by this one man.    ALL of these things could not have happened by accident.  President Bush and Dick Cheney set out to ruin this country financially and there has to be a reason they would do that to us.  The only reason could be that their families are so invested in the Oil Industry that they wanted to ensure that this country remained addicted to foreign oil for decades after they have gone.  They guaranteed that we will always have to use oil to fuel our economy because now, having to pay off this unprecedented debt, debt accrued with absolutely no economic benefit, we will not be able to invest in any alternative technologies.    Other countries will have clean powered economies, wind power will be developed, solar power will be used to generate almost half of their needs.  Clean hydrogen powered cars will soon outnumber the gasoline powered cars in the rest of the world.  But, here in the United States, thanks to this administration, it will take us decades longer to develop these modern green infrastructures.  We will be hampered in our investments due to the bankrupt condition of our federal system and the inflation that is soon to come.  Global warming will continue to worsen since this country is the producer of more than half of the green-house gases and therefore our weather will be worse and worse with more and more disasters hitting us every day.  The air we breathe will be a little more toxic as will the water we drink.  The schools will continue to decline and more and more of our children will turn to crime.  The roads will never support the traffic demands.  Hospitals will be forced to close as more and more of us cannot afford to pay them.  Police services will continue to grow because this is where this administration wants to take us, into the police state where any deviation from these Bush Doctrines will be met with more and more hostility from the state.  The gloom that now hangs over this nation is only reduced slightly by the fact that it is an election year and so the media are filling the airwaves with the promises and fancy speeches by the next crop of candidates for President.  They all try to give us hope by telling us that they will make the most effective changes, over any of their competitors for office.  When are we going to learn that these people always have their own agendas and that the personal agendas of politicians are never in harmony with the agendas of the vast majority of ordinary working people.  We must stand up this year and say “Never Again”.  Never again can we allow uncontrolled government to rule over us.  We must balance out the lunacy, the greed, the incompetence and what amounts to the criminal neglect by those we elect to office.    In a REAL DEMOCRACY, there must always be in place a mechanism for controlling, overruling the whims of men such as these.  Congress will never act to control a President’s whims.  They have been taken over by the same forces of control that won over the Presidency.  They take bribes from the very industries they are charged with controlling.  This conflict of interest will always worsen as these industry leaders find more and more ways to infiltrate our Congress.    The ONLY HOPE for this democracy is to place more power in the hands of the people themselves.  We cannot be bribed.  We cannot be deterred from the goal of serving our own interests.  They will try, but by using NATIONAL BALLOT MEASURES to pass NEW LAWS and repeal some of the misguided laws of the past, they cannot force their will on us.   The Missing Majority will be served.  BUT, only if we upgrade to AMERICA 2.0.  A new version of America is waiting in the
