President Bush said today, “I broke it, so YOU, the American People must fix it.”

President Bush, this morning speaking before a group of government employees so that he wouldn’t be heckled told the nation that yes, he broke Iraq by invading under the lies that his own administration concocted but now that the country was broken it was the responsibility of the American people to pay for it.

President Bush went on to delineate all of the costs of re-building Iraq.  First, the infrastructure, schools, roads, hospitals, government buildings would need to be rebuilt at a cost of around 500 Billion. Next, the Oil lines and refineries, electric power plants, etc. would need to be upgraded at a cost of another 500 Billion dollars.  Much of this re-construction is deferred maintenance, he said, that Saddam caused due to his method of punishing certain sectors of his society.   Since, Bush invaded the country, all of this responsibility of bringing Iraq up to modern standards is now placed squarely on the shoulders of the American people, he said.

President Bush, thought, he said, that the Iraqi Oil Industry would pay for all of this repair of the invasion, but due to the thievery of the Oil by the corrupt Iraqi Government, it would still require the American People to pay for most of this upgrading and damage control.  President Bush said, however, that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

“There is some good news,” President Bush said, concluding his remarks, “At least the Iraqi people are aware of these problems and have told me they are going to do something about it.”

The summary of President Bush’s speech today was that the American people should be happy that we only have to pay around ONE TRILLION DOLLARS for the BUSH MISTAKE.  And, that even though the real terrorists are and were in Pakistan hiding from our troops all this time, there are now plenty of people to fight in Iraq so that’s another reason to go on spending like banshees to go shoot at these new terrorists that we’ve created and even armed with our own weapons.  Yes, sadly it also true, Mr. Bush went on, that most of the insurgents who are now killing our troops every day are armed with “stolen” M-16 Rifles, hand grenades and bombs that were manufactured, paid for and shipped over there for the Iraqi Army that we are also paying to equip.

That’s right America, Saddam was paying for all of this prior to the war.  He paid for the infrastructure of his own country.  Saddam also paid to equip his army, and his own government buildings and his own infrastructure.  True, he was not paying enough and so the Iraqi people were suffering in the kind of stone age economy that they had been used to for thousands of years.  In a sense they were happy because they were not being blown up by the gangs of religious zealots now running amok everywhere in the country.  Their children were safe.  They went to school every day.  True, these were very humble schools barely teaching them anything.  But, at least they were not killing each other or killing our troops.

President Bush, highly discontent by this stable situation, decided that he would make up a story that Saddam had nukes, and invade the country.  Now, that he has been caught red-handed in this lie, he tries to tell us that we should be happy to pay for this criminal act.  We the American People now have a TOTAL BILL of around 3 TRILLION DOLLARS and it’s growing every day that we remain in this God-forsaken country.  And it was ONE MAN who caused all this chaos and strife.

And, as if that weren’t bad enough, the real culprit who is the root cause of all this insanity in our own government, our over-reaction to his original crime, Osama Bin Laden sits nice and warm and cozy in a crappy little border village between Pakistan and Afghanistan, a place that could have been surrounded by our troops in ONE DAY, by using around ten thousand special forces and paratroopers reinforced by the United States Air Forces, and his entire gang of criminals eliminated as a threat to our country.  The total cost of that action would have been less than ONE BILLION DOLLARS, a mere drop in the bucket of what We the American People have had to shoulder so far.

I’m no military genius.  I’m no economist either.  But, at least I do know this much.   We the American People are the biggest suckers on the planet.  We were conned into spending THREE TRILLION of our hard earned dollars to BREAK a country, just so that we could PAY to FIX IT.  AND, the THREAT of TERRORISM looms even bigger today, and the REAL CAUSE OF ALL THIS MESS STILL NEEDS TO BE ROUNDED UP and either killed or imprisoned.

I wonder how much that will COST?
