You were on 60 Minutes last night calling for another BAIL OUT from us the TAXPAYERS for the MALFEASANCE IN OFFICE of key corporate executives. WE MUST NOT REWARD INCOMPETENCE of key executives. We have already seen what that does to a nation. Bush has been rewarded in the BILLIONS and look at what he has accomplished, the end of civilization as we have known it.
The AUTO EXECUTIVES are no better. THEY SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE FUTURE as far back as 1973, when the ARABS turned off the oil and they should have started building electric vehicles. INSTEAD, the built cars that were EVEN LESS EFFICIENT. We can also blame GLOBAL WARMING ON THESE MEN and WOMEN in office today and their predecessors.
I SAY that if we BAIL OUT the AUTO COMPANIES it must come at a PRICE. THE EMPLOYEES must TAKE OVER MANAGEMENT of General Motors, FORD and CHRYSLER. The BOARDS OF DIRECTORS must be all FIRED and EMPLOYEES taking their place. Employees, GUYS ON THE FACTORY FLOORS, the men and women who know how to build cars will convert these companies into EFFICIENT and STREAMLINED FACTORIES that build what PEOPLE WANT. Cheap, gas efficient cars and ELECTRIC, HYBRID and BIODIESEL vehicles.
As the technology deepens to allow more and more efficiency in the Electric Vehicles they can produce more and more of them and less and less of the gas powered cars. EMPLOYEES have taken over in the AIRLINE INDUSTRY and TODAY the EMPLOYEE OWNED AIRLINES are the ONLY ONES MAKING A PROFIT and ACTUALLY HIRING, when all other EXECUTIVE RUN AIRLINES are losing money and going bankrupt every year, and screwing their employees more and more, taking away their pensions in order to stay in business.
I don’t know what they teach Business Management types in Business Schools in this country, since I have never bothered to attend one. However, it seems to this writer that the only thing that really gets through these thick skulls of their privileged students is that they should find ways to TAKE HUGE BONUSES even at the COST of their COUNTRY and their own COMPANY. These 50 and even 100 Million Dollar Bonuses have to stop. NO SINGLE PERSON on this PLANET is worth more than a couple million dollars to any corporation and I doubt even that much is justified. I remember when AT&T executives were getting 20 to 30 million in bonuses and all they accomplished was to LAY OFF 20,000 Employees every time they sat down. ANY BOZO can handle a job that ends up laying off employees. What they should have done is LAY THEMSELVES OFF FIRST and save their companies the BONUS money and they may still be in business today.
THE FRAUD that has gone on in the AUTO INDUSTRY in the past several years MUST NOT BE REWARDED. Their key decision, to CRUSH SEVERAL thousand ALL ELECTRIC VEHICLES DESPITE HUGE CONSUMER DEMAND even back in the 90′s, IS UNFORGIVABLE. The little electric car experiment was a TOTAL SUCCESS and yet EXECUTIVES at all THREE American Auto Companies, PUT THE KAIBOSH on ELECTRIC VEHICLES while JAPAN WAS BUSY DESIGNING THE NEXT GENERATION OF THEM. Today JAPAN has over 60% of the US CAR MARKET.
I SAY that decision making such as this MUST NOT BE REWARDED and ESPECIALLY NOT REWARDED by the TAXPAYER. IF WE MUST PRESERVE the last vestige of MANUFACTURING IN THIS COUNTRY, which I BELIEVE WE MUST DO, then, it must come with the TAXPAYERS GETTING SOMETHING IN RETURN and that is THE BIG THREE RUN BY SOME COMMON SENSE TYPES, American Engineers and workers who KNOW the CAR BUSINESS and will have the INCENTIVE to KEEP THEIR JOBS.
AND, it goes without saying that they take NO GOLDEN PARACHUTES when WE KICK their BUTTS OUT THE DOOR.
In JAPAN, these SO-CALLED EXECUTIVES would be committing Harey Carey right about now, punishment for the disgrace of their nation. Instead, these people are holding out their hands asking for BILLIONS to pay their BONUSES for a job well done? How about, just getting the hell out of town? NANCY PELOSI – ARE YOU LISTENING?
