I am supporting Senator Obama for many reasons. I just like the guy, that’s primary, I suppose. You have to like someone before you can love them. And, I just like the cut of his jib. I like the way he talks and the way he walks. He seems like a hero to me. He seems like the type of person I would want in charge of my corporation, the kind of guy I would let watch my family for me if I was taken away from them. I like this guy for all these reasons that have to do with the feeling you get when you shake someone’s hand and look them in the eye. You either take an immediate like or dislike to a person when you first meet them and I liked this guy the first time he came onto the national stage.
HOWEVER, I would not continue to support someone just for these instinctual reasons if the man did not say what I have always wanted my President to say. He has said, and in fact it’s on his MASTHEAD on the top of his INDEX page of his website and I presume on his letterhead. HE says, “I’m asking you to believe, not just in my ability to bring about real change in Washington, I’m asking you to believe in yours.
I have always believed that REAL DEMOCRACY in AMERICA was the ONE solution for ALL our problems because NATIONAL BALLOT MEASURES will allow us to find the BEST SOLUTIONS that come from the grassroots levels, from the ordinary people who have an idea about how to solve something in a better way than the politicians. THEN, we will take the CREAM of the CROP of these popular ideas that stem from the people and then we VOTE on them. IF the majority approves of an item, then it becomes law. Just like that. NO WAITING for a bill to come out of a COMMITTEE that is chaired like a DESPOT by a guy who was elected from a district whose population believes that UFOs are visiting us every day. No waiting for a good law to come out of COMMITTEE who has been bought and paid for by the INDUSTRY they are supposed to be regulating.
NO MORE WAITING for THREE or FOUR DECADES to get a solution regarding the ENERGY CRISIS or the TERRORIST problem or the HEALTH CARE problems. NO MORE WAITING for the right politician to come along once in a generation to suggest REAL CHANGES we can believe in, WHEN WE COULD HAVE THEM EVERY DAY like a slice of AMERICAN PIE at your local DINER. Democracy should be like a fast food restaurant.
YOU HAVE A NEED. YOU GO INTO THE RESTAURANT and pick the best meal for your taste and then they DELIVER IT TO YOUR TABLE in minutes – CERTAINLY NOT DECADES, because they know that if they took that long in the restaurant business we would all STARVE TO DEATH.
Democracy should be at least as responsive to the needs of the people as any good fast food restaurant.
BARACK OBAMA has my undying loyalty and support because he tells me and he tells all the rest of us to “BELIEVE in OUR ABILITY TO BRING ABOUT REAL CHANGE,” as much as we believe in him.
These are the words of a man that may go down in history as one of the greatest Presidents we’ve ever known.

I support Barack Obama – Here’s why.
