I’m not making this up folks.
President Bush’s response to the new Blockbuster Book by Scott McClellan, former head of Bush Propaganda who now says that the War was already decided by Bush as soon as he came into office, then 9/11 presented the Bush administration with the excuse they needed to attack Iraq, even though they knew that Iraq had nothing to do with the attack on us on 9/11.
McClellan’s book confirms our fears that there is a man in the White House who has absolutely no concern for the safety of our troops or for the reputation and goodwill of the American Democracy.
So, the White House Response from the new head of Propaganda, Dana Perino is to send her out in front of the cameras and tear up as she is claiming that McClellan is not accurate. So, now we have one liar accusing the other liar of lying. The truth is folks that all Presidents lie at one point or another in their administration. Bill Clinton lied about his affair with Monica Lewinsky. “I did not have sex with that woman.” We can still see that big old finger waving like a big stick in front of the camera to emphasize how truthful he was being, when he knew full well that he was lying.
Before him, President Bush Senior lied about the economy, saying that he was doing everything he could to improve the economy and in reality, he was playing golf every day and didn’t care a fig about the ordinary citizen. Before him Ronald Reagan lied to us about his selling of weapons to Iran in return for the release of hostages. Before him, we had Richard Nixon lying about the War in Viet Nam. He got elected by telling the American people that he had a “Secret plan to end the war.”
Turns out his secret plan was to bomb the hell out of Cambodia. Somehow, in Nixon’s psychotic mind by bombing another country, the American people might be fooled into thinking the war in Viet Nam was coming to a close. Of course, this had the opposite effect of serving the truth and many thousands more of our brave young men died needlessly fighting for our rights to tin and rubber. Today, the war is over OIL.
And the truly ironic part of Presidential Lies is that they never get what they intended to get by lying to us. Nixon didn’t get us any more tin or rubber by sending thousands of our young boys to die there. And, Bush is not getting us any more oil by sending our boys and girls to die there. Somehow when a politician suddenly finds himself the Commander-In-Chief of all those troops, those cool looking jet planes, the big brave Navy ships, the bombs, the guns, the ammunition, it turns them into monsters and they think that the best way to command all these military assets is to use them, somewhere anywhere, doesn’t matter where, as long as they get used, as if they’re going to go rusty on us and all the soldiers, sailors, marines will die of boredom.
It’s the power that turns them into little boys going around the world placing the little plastic men all around the board, hoping for a big victory so that they can go down in history with the big shots of military adventures, like Ghengis Khan, Julius Caesar, Napolean, etc. But, it never works out this way. Instead, they just go down in history as being the biggest jerks in military history because they forget that you have to have excellent generals to win a war, and the bureaucrats they have in the Pentagon are far from being great generals. And, worse, you also have to have the RIGHT, not the MIGHT to win a war.
If you look at the most important wars in history it’s the people with the RIGHT who win most of the time, Praise God, than the people with the most MIGHT. Viet Nam is the biggest example of this in all of history. These little people had little more than pitchforks and a few pop guns. We had 50,000 pound bombs, tanks, B-52 Bombers, hundreds of them, each one capable of taking out a city. They had no jet planes to speak of. We had the atomic bomb but couldn’t use it. They had mortars and hand guns and a few machine guns. This nothing of a country won a major war against the most powerful super-power the world had ever known and they did it because they knew they were right and we were terribly wrong to invade them. Their internal affairs were their business not ours. They were not invading us or anyone else. They were not a threat to us or anyone else. In fact, the French colonialists who had enslaved them just prior to us coming in there were the real threat to world peace, not the little Viet Namese rice farmers.
But NIXON knew better because he was evil. Don’t take my word for that, just listen to how the man talked on his private tapes. He called even his own party members the most foul names. He hated the Jews. He was a racist and we also know he was a mass murderer, with zero regard for human life. Yet, somehow, this man, a cunning power-hungry politician made it all the way to the highest office in this land, or in the world.
Bush, not much more of a man than Nixon also found himself in this office, largely by birth, not by talent or bravery or anything else. And, we the American People have to pay for the damage men like these do to our nation. Bush a few weeks ago made a speech where he told us that even though he may have made mistakes that he didn’t have to pay for them and he wouldn’t pay for them because we SHEEP, the American People would pay for them. It was the most shocking speech I have ever heard delivered by anyone. It was as if he was saying; “Yes you’re going to pay the TRILLIONS of DOLLARS in DEBT, I’ve put you in, even though you had no say in the matter, even though I lied to you about this spending, even though it was largely my decision to do this to you. YOU the American people will pay, but don’t worry about it. You live in the land of plenty. What are you complaining about? you’ll have plenty to eat. I’m going to let you eat cake.”
The only lesson we must learn as a nation is that all politicians lie whenever they open their mouth and what we have to do is get ourselves a tool for controlling them and reversing their mistaken policies whenever we want to. We put dogs on leashes because we don’t want them fouling the lawns of our neighbors, don’t wee? Why not put leashes on our government so that they don’t foul up the whole planet?
